Making the Most of a Wedding on a Budget

May 8, 2022

Hi it’s Dave with Dave McIntosh Photographics. A wedding is one of those experiences that is long-awaited but goes by in a flash. Having a professional wedding videographer present to capture your celebration from before your ceremony to your evening reception will remind you of your best day and offer a lifelike memory of your wedding for years to come. Let’s explore making the most of a wedding on a budget.

Plan out Your Day

Your wedding, like any other event, can be stressful and a nightmare if not planned. It is wise to have a solid idea of what you want and the time necessary to work around it all. This will help you secure vendors for more time than you feel will be needed and give you a little wiggle room in case things fall behind. Make a list of what you want to incorporate in your wedding, along with the value you place on each before assigning a budget and trimming it down.

Meet Virtually

Making many trips to visit multiple vendors will cost you money and often waste valuable time. Thus, it’s best first to research, narrow down your list, and then filter them out by not only cost but reviews and the ease of communicating with them. Only work with vendors that are quick to respond to your questions and that respond with more than a short answer.

Using Online Resources

This tip can save you time and money. Instead of going from shop to shop and wasting time that could be better spent on other wedding obligations, you could research trends and styles online. The things you want to incorporate into your wedding can then be ordered from reputable online retailers rather than in-store to save some costs.

Hire a Wedding Planner

You may think planning a wedding is easy. Well, it’s not. Just ask past brides. Therefore, it is probably best to bring in a professional who really knows what they are doing. A wedding planner will assist with the design, planning, and management and ensure the entire event is well-organized.

Hire a Wedding Videographer

Don’t leave out videography! Remember, items that can’t provide emotional value after the wedding is over are low priority, so don’t invest too much time or money in them. Your wedding cake will be thoroughly enjoyed, but even a twelve-tier wedding cake will eventually be gone. Not having wedding videography is one of the biggest regrets of most couples later in life. So, spend on memories.
