Engagement Photography Session

A look at Meghan & Rob’s engagement session from Dave McIntosh Photographics, Baltimore wedding photography and videography.

One of my favorite places to photograph engagement sessions is the Baltimore Inner Harbor. Meghan (aka Molly) and Rob are all about Baltimore. Their wedding is at the Royal Sonesta, so the inner harbor seemed like the best place for the engagement photography session. Meghan and Rob are both schoolteachers.
They were introduced to me by a mutual friend, Beth Laverick. I Photograph for Beth, who is an incredible event planner with over 40 events planned this summer and fall. I am grateful to friends who put their reputations on the line and recommend my services. Rob arrived dressed in long pants, dress shirt and a tie. I later learned he almost never wears long pants. As a physical education teacher, he often wears shorts to work even in the winter. Meghan brought two dresses. We photographed with the first look at Federal Hill Park and walked down to the harbor. Then we had a drink at the Rusty Scupper.
While we were relaxing at the Rusty Scupper, I asked Rob about their first date. He explained he didn’t set up the first date. A friend texted Meghan from Rob’s phone and scheduled a date at the Charleston restaurant. She even made the reservations. Rob had never been the Charleston, so he had no idea what to expect. He went through with the date and, of course, they had a great time. His wallet was much thinner after the date, but it was a success. After our drinks, Molly and Rob changed to a more casual, and we visited the rooftop deck at the Rusty Scupper. The manager was very nice. He arranged to let us use the deck for a few minutes during an event. We roamed the harbor and took a few more photos, laughing and having fun along the way. We wanted a sunset photo with Domino Sugar in the background, but for some reason, the sign wasn’t on that night. Never saw that before. I think we got some great photos. What a fun couple. Their students are cheering them on and I am, too.
